Construction is under way to create a vibrant new public space at the heart of the PCF&P-designed World Trade Center complex on Barcelona’s waterfront.
Design partner José Bruguera—a lead designer of the original complex, completed in 2002—has reimagined its central plaza as a vibrant, multilayered environment with abundant green space, including an orange grove and extensive plantings. The project restores the grand spatial quality of the original plaza and sustainably updates the design, amenities, and technology of both plaza and lobbies, while offering WTC occupants and guests a variety of open and sheltered spaces for collaboration, dining, and recreation. Completion is expected next year.
